What You Get

  1. Unique, individual-level live data for your area, to help you fight the pandemic.

Data not available via any other source, even the Department for Education. Includes suspected and confirmed cases, Covid anxiety, physical and mental symptoms, by school, age, class, vulnerable pupils, FSM, PP, SEN, anything. Even includes “remote learners” at home during lockdown.

  2. For your schools, an automated platform for reporting Covid attendance.

Saves schools time while giving you the data you need. They also get tools to help maximise pupil attendance, boost parental engagement and improve safeguarding and children’s wellbeing.

  3. Live map of symptoms in your area, showing hotspots by school. Live Map of Symptoms in Your Area
  4. Automatic, custom alerts for key LA staff.

For example, get a warning when anxiety reports in vulnerable children exceed a pre-defined threshold.

  5. Answers to any questions you’d like to ask parents.

Ask about Covid-19 tests, things at home or at school, opinions on local health protection measures, etc.

  6. Opportunity to participate in UK-wide research.

The long-term impact of Covid-19 on children, effects of air pollution on childhood asthma and more.

  7. A long-term platform in place for monitoring all illnesses in your schools.

Track stomach bugs, flu, new coronaviruses, anxiety, stress – whatever comes along.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Announce to schools.

We’ve done this before and have ready-made materials you can use.

  2. 2

    We’ll get schools set up.

Our consultants will liaise with schools to answer their questions and get them going.

  3. 3

    Start receiving live data.

This can happen within a couple of days.

How does it work for schools?

Schools simply need to take 10 minutes to set up Studybugs Sync, our MIS connector. They can then use the tools we provide (we’ll take them through this).

If they’d like to deploy the free Studybugs parent app, they are welcome to do that too.

Data collection is embedded in schools’ processes, so there’s no extra work, and Studybugs takes care of ever-changing statutory reporting, which makes life that bit easier too.

With all the chaos and uncertainty… I’m so chuffed with how responsive Studybugs is to what’s going on.

97%+ Participation

LAs have achieved 97% participation among their schools, and rising.

Studybugs works for nurseries up to colleges, ages 3-18. And from January 2021, Studybugs “remote learner” support now makes it easy for schools to track attendance of all pupils even in lockdown.

All of which ensures you get the complete picture, whatever’s going on.

Why Studybugs?Since 2014

Studybugs has been tracking symptoms in schools since 2014. Our aim has always been to help keep children healthy and in school. For more than five years, our anonymised data has been used by researchers within the NHS, Public Health England and elsewhere, helping tackle childhood asthma, stomach bugs, mental health and more.

We’re now focusing on Covid-19 because there’s an urgent need for better data on symptoms in schools, and Studybugs is uniquely placed to meet that need.

We’re committed to ensuring the data we’re collecting, with your help, is put to good use and can make a positive difference in tackling the pandemic.
